In our ongoing series, here’s what Lea Gralewski, intern, told us about his life outside the office:
What is your favorite hobby and why?
Lacing up my shoes and going for a run. I love being outside and there are so many great trails and neighborhoods to run through in Denver. I actually have a bucket list of places to run. Already checked off the list are Central Park in New York City, kicking up sand on the beaches of the Great Barrier Reef and along the coasts of Sydney. Next up, I hope to hit the pavement in the streets of Europe or along some trails in South America.
Where is the coolest place you’ve traveled?
Sydney, Australia! It has a little bit of everything; from the beach to the mountains. It’s like Colorado in everyone being so active. The weather is perfect all year long and the city has so much to offer. The people are so genuine and the accents only get better the more you’re around them. It was great to not have a car during my time there as I got to walk and bus all over the city and stumble across great finds in restaurants, coffee shops and boutiques in the suburbs. And the animals are unlike anything I’ve ever seen! I’ll always remember the first time I saw a kangaroo in the Outback.
What is your favorite thing about living in Colorado?
The active lifestyle of everyone here. It’s motivating to get out and explore! I also enjoy that the mountains are so accessible. It’s neat to see what they have to offer at different times of the year. There’s a lot to do during the summer around Denver. From farmers markets to community runs and hikes, there is something to do every weekend. I usually spend most of the summer outside exploring the city parks with good friends.
