In our ongoing series, here’s what Kelly Nash, our recently promoted account associate, told us about life outside the office.
Where is the coolest place you’ve traveled? Any travel plans coming up?
I spent the summer after my junior year of college on a study abroad program in Barcelona. It was one of the most amazing experiences, as I lived with a Spanish-speaking family in their home, while studying art history. Living in home-stay was unique because I was forced to keep an open mind, eat their food and speak their language. The experience enhanced my confidence to travel alone and gave me greater sense of independence. My favorite spots were Montjuïc (Site of the 1992 Summer Olympics), Bo de B (hands down best sandwich you will ever have), and Park Guell.
This Christmas, I am traveling with my family to Whitefish, Montana. Whitefish is a small town about 30 minutes west of Glacier National Park. I’ve been going there with my family for more than 15 years and I have to say that it’s definitely my favorite place on earth.
What is your favorite outdoor activity?
I am thrilled that ski season is here. I grew up skiing across Colorado with my family and have so many memories of the 6 of us skiing together. I even have a few days of skiing under my belt for the 2015/2016 season. I love the feeling of snow beneath my skis, cruising down the mountain and taking in the breathtaking views. And après ski up in the mountains is pretty awesome too.
What is your favorite thing about living in Colorado?
The fact that I can be outside any day of the year. Whether it be at a rooftop bar in the summer, hiking somewhere off I-70 or taking a walk through the snow, I love spending time outside. There are so many things to do in Colorado and most of them just happen to be in the sunshine. This past summer, I hiked my first 14-er. Despite the chilly wind, the views on the climb and from the top were incredible. I couldn’t imagine spending 300+ days of sunshine anywhere else!
