CHallenge

Engagement at the community level became even more vital following passage of Colorado Senate Bill 19-181 and rulemaking focused on safeguarding public health and the environment. A Colorado energy producer sought a balanced approach to ESG storytelling to ensure stakeholders are aware of the company’s efforts to operate safely, responsibly and with respect for the environment while minimizing the temporary impacts of its operations using the latest technologies, mitigation techniques and industry best practices.

Solution

Linhart PR worked with the public affairs team and technical experts to elevate the company’s efforts to be an environmental leader and increase understanding of the company’s work across several platforms. We translated efforts into fact sheets, videos, press releases, internal communications materials and media pitches for use on social channels and the website, and for use in external outreach, including to media.

Results

Developed a regular cadence of ESG storytelling, which helped lead to the company being named a “Gold Leader” in the Colorado Dept. of Public Health and Environment Environmental Leadership Program. Over a two-year period:

  • Secured 30+ news stories, including 14 articles on the company’s real-time, continuous air quality monitoring program and a feature in the Denver Post on a new partnership to deliver responsibly sourced gas, headlined, ‘Colorado oil and gas company aims to produce "cleanest molecules" anywhere’
  • Secured three Denver Business Journal awards for company leaders
  • Successfully promoted 10 community partnerships, including sponsorship of a new mobile STEM education bus for a nearby school district, that was featured in a CBS Denver newscast
  • Developed five new fact sheets and two videos to showcase efforts during community engagements and via the company website
